About Me
My name is Georgie and
I inhabit that grey area between lay person and magician.
I have loved magic ever since I was a child, though
for some reason I never really got to grips with doing
much of it. I loved the idea of it and I loved watching
it but performing it seemed too scary. Over the past
few years, that has been changing. I’ve got to
know some magicians and started learning more about
magic and how it works, in the broadest sense.
It occurred to me
that there is a gap in the cybermarket for a website
catering for new magicians – and for lay people
- and I decided to build one. It started as a very small
sideline but these days it takes up quite a bit of my
time. I particularly enjoy my role as a 'magic journalist',
interviewing successful magicians and hearing their
stories and advice.
Since I became serious
about magic, I've been going to every magicians' convention
I can, as well as seeking out places around the world
where magic is happening. I've seen - and, in many cases,
met - some of the greatest magicians in the world, including
Lance Burton, Mac King, Paul Daniels, Juan Tamariz,
Lennart Green, Bill Malone, Guy Hollingworth, Geoffrey
Durham, Nicholas Einhorn, Shoot Ogawa, Jeff McBride,
Eugene Burger, Max Maven, Joshua Jay, Kenton Knepper,
David Stone, Rafael Benatar, David Berglas, Dan Garrett,
Gaetan Bloom, Richard Sanders, Kostya Kimlat, Peter
Samelson, Denny Haney, Jeff Hobson, Jay Sankey and JJ
Sanvert.
Magic is still generally
a hobby for me. When I do perform professionally, it's
usually on stage with my friend and mentor Iain Moran.
